Our Services Department encompasses a number of areas all necessary to ensure a quality service delivery to our residents, patients and clients, including:
Cleaning
Both inside and outside of our buildings are cleaned on a regular basis. Cleanliness is the key to ensuring both a pleasant environment and to minimising the risk of infections spreading from one patient to another.
All of our cleaning tasks are performed to the Victorian Standards of Cleaning for Public Hospitals. The cleaning standards are regularly audited to ensure continued compliance with these standards.
Laundry
All of our residents’ personal clothing is laundered on site ensuring that they always have fresh clean clothes to wear. Bed linen and towels are sent off site to a commercial laundry that adheres to Australian Standards.
Grounds
Our full time grounds staff takes pride in maintaining our gardens, both public and residential, in pristine condition.
Maintenance
It is important that all of our plant, equipment and buildings are maintained to the highest standard in order to ensure the health and safety of any persons, whether residents, staff or visitors, who enter the premises. A planned maintenance program assists us to achieve this
Supply
Our supply department is kept busy ensuring that we have sufficient supplies to cater for the daily needs of the entire Beechworth Health Service and that these goods are of the highest quality and stored under appropriate conditions to maintain the integrity of medical goods as well as more common items such as food.
Catering
Our catering department provides three meals a day to our residents and patients as well as preparing and packaging foods for Meals on Wheels supplied to local and surrounding areas. We cater for all specific dietary needs within the health service. All meals produced are monitored to ensure that they meet the necessary nutritional requirements for the clientele they are intended for as well as meeting food safety standards.
